Hello everybody!!! Any who, I'm going to show y'all how to create a cute vintage nail design with roses and polka dots!

The inspiration for this design came from a shirt that Kellster, Kellstermakeup on YouTube, was wearing in one of her videos, you can see it HERE.

Nail Polish Spotlight: Julep Ellie

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday!!!
Today the nail polish spotlight is going to shine over Julep's nail vernis in Ellie!

Julep Ellie

I recieved Ellie in my May Julep Maven box.  Ellie is described as a seashell pink with holographic shimmer according to Julep's website.  I believe that Ellie is more of an opalescent pink pearl color with a slight duochrome finish.  The polish looked amazing in the bottle, but I could also tell that it was going to be sheer.

The application of Ellie was very smooth and the color did give okay coverage after 3 coats, but you can still see my nail line.

Here's a picture of Ellie indoors with flash.

BK says hi!!! : )

When I first painted my nails with Ellie I'll be honest, I really didn't like it, but it kind of grew on me after a couple days.  The wear of this polish was just wonderful, I wore this polish for five days without any chipping and minor tip wear.  I think that this polish is nice on its own, but I might try layering it over another color next time I wear it.  Some issues that I had with this polish was the brush that it came with was messed up and my bottle wasn't full when I got it.  Other than that, the polish gets a thumbs up from me!

Do you have Julep Ellie?  What are your thoughts about this color?  Tell me in the comments below!

Are you a Julep Maven yet? If not, then what are you waiting for?!?! Click HERE, fill out the quiz, and get new exclusive polishes before anyone else. There's also a code flying around (COLOR2012) where you can get your intro box for ONE penny!!! Yes one penny for the whole shebang!

Nail Polish Spotlight: Zoya Zuza + A little announcementt!!

Hello everybody!!!  Before I talk about the polish in the spotlight, I just want to say thank you to everybody that has visited my blog and read my posts.  Today I was surprised to see that there have been 1,500 page views on my blog!!!  I couldn't have never imagined that me, a small town girl, would have that many page views in this short amount of time.  I really do enjoy blogging and sharing my love for polish with others!  I started blogging as a way to keep my mind occupied on something that I love instead of something negative, which is what I was doing before.  I don't want to share my sob story but I do want to say that blogging has given me a better outlook on life!!!  Even though I don't have many followers I still love logging onto my little corner of the internet and writing about polish, but y'all could definitely follow my blog if you want! Lol

Now let's get to the nail polish spotlight shall we!!!

Today I'm going to talk about a polish that I just love to pieces!!!!  That polish is Zoya Zuza, a turquoise foil metallic polish with silver and gold shimmer.  When I first saw this polish I immediately fell in love with it because blue is my absoulte favorite color!  I also fell in love with the fact that it was a very unique polish that I've never seen before!!!!  I. LOVE. ZUZA!!! *_*

Just check out this color for yourself!

The application of this polish is absolutely flawless, I only needed two coats to achieve full opacity.  The only thing that I had an issue with was removing this polish, blue and green polishes tend to stain your nails.  Zuza didn't stain my nails too much, but it did stain my skin.  I could say that Zuza is with out a doubt my favorite blue polish in my collection!  It might even be my favorite polish in my entire collection, which is saying a lot beca I have a crapload of polish!  I wore this polish for a full seven days without a chip in sight, I almost kept it on for another week but decided it was time to give Rory a shot (post coming soon!)

I absoulutely LOVE this polish and would hurt anyone who would even think about taking it from me, yeah I'll knock you out! Lol just kidding!

Definately head over to Zoya.com and check out Zuza and the reast of the polishes in the Beach & Surf collections, you won't be disapointed.  You can also make an account and get a free polish on your first purchase by clicking HERE.  Zoya always have great promotions going on.  Right now they have a promo where you get a trio of polishes for 50% off + $4 shipping!!!

What are your thoughts about Zoya Zuza?  Do you have Zuza and love it as much as I do? Tell me in the comments below!!!

Now for the announcement!!!  My birthday is right around the corner, I'll be turning 20 on July 19th, and I want to do a little something special for y'all!  I'm not sure what I'll do yet or when I'll do it, but I do have a question!  If I were to have a giveaway would y'all like nail polish and nail art rhinestones or just nail polish?  Let me know in the comments below!!!

Nail Polish Spotlight!: Revlon Popular

Hello peeps!  Today the nail polish spotlight is going to shine a B-E-A-utiful Revlon polish!  What's her name you ask...well read the title! Lol I crack myself up! XD

Anyways, back to the polish.  Revlon's Popular is a light pale pink polish with mutli sized silver glitter.  I first heard about this polish when Revlon came out with I believe 50 new permanent polishes, Popular being one of them, earlier this year.  I saw it at my H-E-B and and thought ,"Why not they're on sale! You can't go wrong with sales!" (great logic right?)  I'll be honest, I wasn't too impressed with Popular once I swatched it, but when I did a full mani with it I fell in love!!!

Revlon Popular- 3 coats

I also love the way this polish looks matte!

This polish is just wonderful!!!  I thought that it was going to be sheer after I applied the first coat, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was completely opaque after threes coats.  You could apply a light pink polish as a base color if you don't want so many layers of glitter.  I love the way that the polish gives a "sandwiched" look to your manicure!  As far as wear ability goes, the polish did last a good 4 days before I had any chipping, but the polish did crack a little.

Overall, I think this is a beautiful polish and a must have for any pink polish lover!

Do you have this polish?  If so, what do you think about it?  Have a picture of a mani?  Post a picture on my facebook page!

Thanks for reading!

Julep Maven Box (June 2012)

Hello everybody!  Today I'm going to show y'all my Julep Maven box for June 2012!  Even though I've had my box for a while now, I still wanted to share what I got with y'all!  This month's boxes were absolutely AMAZING!!!!  They were full of amazing bright colors that are perfect for summer!  I'm an American Beauty but this month I decided to switch to Classic with a twist.  Let me tell you, it was hard picking which box that I was going to choose.  I'm pretty sure I switched boxes three time before I finally stayed with classic with a twist.  Ok, I'll stop blabbering and get on with the goodies!!!  You can watch me open my box HERE!

Neon Watercolor Nail Art

Hey y'all!  Tonight I'm going to show y'all a cute nail design that is so simple to do and just screams summer!  A few weeks ago I was trying to think of a design to do for a contest.  I was looking through my pins on pinterest, I'm obsessed with this website, and found a watercolor nail tutorial and I thought I would give it a try with neon polishes!

When I first saw watercolor nails I thought that they looked very similar to water marble nails, but they are completely different.  The watercolor technique uses pure acetone to achieve the watercolor look, whereas the water marble technique uses water to achieve its design.  The watercolor technique is very simple, but does require a bit of practice.  At first I was having some problems with the acetone removing the white base polish, but once I tried it a few times I finally got the hang of it.

Here is the finished product!!!

You can watch the tutorial for this design HERE!

I really loved the way this came out and I will definitely do this technique again with many different color combinations!

Have you ever tried the watercolor technique?  If you have I would love to see pictures, you can post them on my facebook wall.  What are some new nail art designs that you are obsessed with?  Tell me in the comments below!

Nail Polish Spotlight (Combo): Pink Princess Glitter (Zoya Shelby + Sinfulcolors Pinky Glitter)

Hello ladies and maybe gents!  Today the nail polish spotlight is going to shine over another gorgeous glitter combo that I discovered!  It is my pleasure to present to you Zoya's Shelby and Sinfulcolors Pinky glitter as they combine to become Pink Princess Glitter!!! (LOL can you tell I love this combo!)

I used two coats of Zoya Shelby and two coats of Sinful colors Pinky Glitter.

Sorry for the terrible clean-up job, this was done a while ago before I discovered pure acetone!

Here's a closer look at the beautiful glitter!

Another look at the beautiful glitter!  Again, excuse my cuticle and poor clean-up job!

I REALLY love this combo and I plan on wearing this in the coming summer months!  The only issue that I had with this combo is the base color.  I found that my Zoya Shelby polish was a bit goopy and kind of streaky.  I'm not sure if it's because my polish that I got leaked a little or if the formula is just a little off.  Zoya Shelby is a light blue based pink, you can see a swatch of it HERE and HERE, from the Beach collection.  The Pinky glitter is an amazing pink jelly based polish with loads of iridescent glitters, you can see a swatch of it HERE!!! *drools*

Do any of y'all have a favorite glitter combination!  If so, I would love to see them in the comments below!  Also check out my Facebook Page and YouTube channel for more tutorials and updates!

Crystal

Revlon Colorstay Nail polish review! (Wordy and Picture Heavy post)

Hello my fellow nail polish addicts!!!  Today I'm going to share my thoughts on Revlon's new Colorstay nail polish!  I've heard some mixed things about this polish, some people hate it and some people love it.  I was curious about this new line of polish because it claims to be like gel nails and are suppose to last 7 to 10 days without chipping.  I'll be completely honest, I didn't believe that claim one bit, but since I'm a sucker for polish I thought I would give it a chance and pick up a few colors.

Lots O'Dots Nail Art!

Hey y'all!!!!  Long time no talk!
Today I'm going to show y'all a nail design that I came up with using my new dotting tools!!!  It's a fairly simple design that anyone can do and it only requires two polishes!!!

You can watch the tutorial for this design HERE!
I tried to do this design a while back but it was a complete FAIL!  I just came up with this design in my head, but after I finished doing my nails it kind of reminded me of something you would see on fabric or a sari!  I'm very pleased with the way it turned out!  Although it was time consuming, the end result makes up for the hours that it took to complete this cute design!

Here are some more pics of this fabulous design!!!

BK wanted my attention!!! Isn't he cute?! >.<

Check out BK in the background checking out my polishes!

And there it is!  If y'all try this design I would love to see it!!! You can post pictures of y'alls cute manis on my Facebook page!  Don't forget to check out the tutorial for this design HERE!
